How to Read the Steps

01

Part codes

Codes like A12 or B3 match the code printed next to each part on the wooden boards.

02

Small numbers

The small numbered circles show the order to follow inside each step.

03

Glue icon

The green glue bottle marks where to add a small dot of glue. Everywhere else fits together.

04

×2, ×3 and the tick

×2 means build that part twice. The green tick shows how it should look when it's done.

Troubleshooting

If Something Isn’t Right

Part Stuck or Too Tight?

Don't force it. Cut the small holding tabs with a craft knife, and sand a tight tab lightly with fine sandpaper before trying again.

Lights Not Working?

Check the power first (batteries the right way round, or the cable pushed fully in), then the switch, then every connector. Make sure no bare wires touch.

Take Your Time

You don’t have to finish in one sitting. Stop after any step and pick it up again later.

Safety

  • Contains small parts. Not suitable for children under 3. Adult supervision recommended for younger builders.
  • Some parts have sharp edges. Always cut away from your hands when using a craft knife.
  • Use only the power source listed for your kit, and switch the lights off when you leave the room.
  • Don't clean your book nook with water or any liquid. Dust it with a soft, dry brush.
